Liam Coen makes NFL history following Jacksonville Jaguars' latest win
Jacksonville Jaguars' head coach Liam Coen made NFL history in Week 17 after the team's latest victory over the Colts. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Coen is the only first-year head coach to win 12 or more games after taking over a team that had four or fewer wins during the previous season.
The Indianapolis Colts made some unfortunate history on Saturday. Indianapolis was officially eliminated from playoff contention, becoming the sixth team in NFL history to miss the postseason after opening the year with a record of 8-2 or better.
A once-promising Colts season that included a 7-1 start, has ended without a postseason berth, sparked by a historic late-season collapse.
That's not the kind of history any team hopes to make, and it underscores what a disaster the second half of the season has been for Indianapolis. They began the season as the NFL's best story, with Daniel Jones getting a redemption arc with a fresh start in Indy, leading an offense that was the best in the league.
