While areas of northern Wisconsin received over a foot of snowfall overnight Dec. 28-29, southern Wisconsin received around 1 inch. Still, high winds causing blowing and drifting snow caused the National Weather Service to issue a winter weather advisory even for areas with low accumulation, like Milwaukee.

Some of the highest totals were on Long Island and in New Jersey, where greater than 6 inches of snow was measured.

A couple Alberta Clipper systems will start sweeping across Michigan later tonight and into Wednesday, bringing two fresh rounds of snow statewide.
